Second Stop in Ireland: Killarney

Accommodations

I stayed at the Gleneagle Hotel because that is where my dance competition was being held, but I would not recommend staying here for anyone. It is expensive and not well kept. It’s also far from town.

Transportation

I took the train from Cork to Killarney, which was very simple. There is a Gleneagle bus that I took to the hotel. I had to walk all the way back because the bus didn’t run early enough, however. Luckily Killarney is flat, so it wasn’t awful to do it even with a lot of luggage.

Food

  1. I don’t remember where I ate in town, but I do know that all the bars were packed early. If you have a place in mind, get dinner somewhat early and then go somewhere else for drinks!
  2. I ate at Brehon Bar just because it was near Gleneagle.  The pasta was actually pretty good.
