Sunny Weekend in Sofia, Bulgaria

August 12, 2021

Hostel Mostel really reminds me of a US motel for some reason, based on the vibe and decor. I really like that the rooms open to the outdoors, and it’s super cheap. They also have a kitchen, and the staff was very nice to me.

I got to Tables to get some work done. They have some interesting food options. They have an outdoor area which is nice, but I sat inside to use the outlets.

After working I get a quick dinner at Avrasia Restaurant near the hostel. I only went here because everything else was closed. It’s greasy Turkish food that I can’t say I recommend, but it will do in a pinch.

I felt sick today so I bought some food at the grocery store and stayed in. I only ventured out for dinner to get something a bit more substantial from Rainbow Factory.

They serve delicious vegan sandwiches, and it’s not overpriced either. I would come back to try the breakfast as well.

I’m feeling better so I attend the Free Sofia Tour in the afternoon. This is all the sightseeing I did in Sofia, and it covered most of the important things. I recommend going on this tour first thing and then using their recommendations to see other things. The only thing I wish I saw was the inside of the synagogue.

For dinner I go to Boom! Burgers and Booze, which turns out to be some sort of sex themed burger restaurant that is really good, but maybe don’t bring your kids here.
